Leisure & Allied Industries (LAI) was founded in 1958 by Malcolm Steinberg in Perth, Western Australia. A pioneer in the Family Entertainment Concept, LAI grew to encompass International Sales, R & D and Manufacturing.
Focusing on innovative and quality products - LAI introduced games that have consistently been best sellers. Examples are "Stacker" and "Lighthouse" - prize vending games, which have remained best sellers in the US market for the past 12 months in their categories.
In 1978, LAI established the Timezone brand in Australia. Following its success, through constant improvement and innovation, the Timezone brand went international in 1995 with a location in Bali, Indonesia. Since then, it has expanded to well over 110 outlets in Indonesia alone, as well as other markets such as Singapore, New Zealand, The Philippines, India and Vietnam.
